WIC (Women, Infants, Children)

WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) is a nutritional program offered to pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, infants and children under age 5. The goal of the Federally-funded WIC program is to help young children get off to a healthy start. Eligibility is based on nutritional risk and Federal income guidelines.

WIC clients receive nutrition education and counseling and supplemental food packages. WIC food packages now include baby food and fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables.

Income guidelines are generous, a family of four can make as much as $47,638 a year and still qualify.
