Third Dose for Immunocompromised People

The CDC has recommended an additional vaccine dose for people who are moderately or severely immunocompromised.

This includes people who have:

  • Been receiving active cancer treatment for tumors or cancers of the blood

  • Received an organ transplant and are taking medicine to suppress the immune system

  • Received a stem cell transplant within the last 2 years or are taking medicine to suppress the immune system

  • Moderate or severe primary immunodeficiency (such as DiGeorge syndrome, Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome)

  • Advanced or untreated HIV infection

  • Active treatment with high-dose corticosteroids or other drugs that may suppress your immune response

People should talk to their healthcare provider about their medical condition, and whether getting an additional dose is appropriate for them.

The third dose is only recommended for individuals who received Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, at this time additional doses of Johnson & Johnson are not recommended.

Missouri Incentive Drawing for Vaccinated Individuals

On July 21, Governor Parson announced an incentive drawing to encourage Missouri residents to get vaccinated with cash prizes of $10,000. There are separate drawing pools for individuals vaccinated before or after July 21. To register or find out more visit,

Starting in July, the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services will partner with the Missouri Lottery to draw 180 winners in 5 randomized drawings who will win either $10,000 cash or $10,000 towards an education savings account. In total, the state will award 900 individuals throughout the incentive program.
